Samsung Galaxy K Zoom (S5 Zoom) snapped on camera with faux leather back

A high-quality photo allegedly depicting the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom has just come to light, though the mole that divulged it calls the forthcoming camera phone the Galaxy K Zoom.

Samsung’s leaky faucet is dripping again, after only a few days of silence, this time revealing exactly how slim and “better thought out” S4 Zoom’s sequel will be. Or so we’d like to think, as the source of the latest S5 Zoom-related leak is even more obscure than the infamous scribbler of the device’s specs on actual paper last week.
But if it’s bogus Photoshop work we’re looking at, it’s a really fine effort, and we don’t see why anyone would go through the trouble. After all, at this point, one could easily take an S4 zoom pic, work on it a little, and then claim Samsung intends to rehash rather than revolutionize its design.
Instead, the image uncovered today shows a product revamped from its very roots, significantly skinnier than the abominable S4 Zoom, with a 20 MP snapper that you barely notice when not in use, and some sort of faux leather-like plastic rear cover.
Granted, maybe it’s not as elegant as Galaxy Note 3’s stitched fake leather back, but it’s close enough. And it’s leaps and bounds ahead of S4 and S4 Zoom’s aesthetics. Regardless of the corners, which are a little rounded for my personal taste.
Spotted getting Wi-Fi certification in five flavors, model numbered SM-C115, SM-C115L, C115M, C1158 and C111, the S5 Zoom, or K Zoom (probably an internal codename), is expected out with both a hexa-core 1.3 GHz Exynos 5 chip and quad-core 1.6 GHz… Snapdragon 400?
No matter how many versions will ultimately be rolled out, they should all carry state-of-the-art 20 MP cams with 10x optical zoom, Xenon flash and optical image stabilization, as well as 2 GB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat, 4.8-inch 720p displays and 8 GB on-board storage.
Enough to keep PureView-equipped Nokia Lumias and Sony’s camera phone contenders at bay? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
